Vintage
Woodworks Inc. has developed a specialty in the
maintenance, restoration and /or replacement of
windows on pre 1930s commercial buildings. We
have been involved with the restoration of over
1000 windows in churches, schools, apartments,
government offices and hotels.
Our
work spans the initial consultation with the contractor,
architect or heritage preservation specialist
through the manufacture and installation of our
product. We do all our own custom manufacturing
and glazing in our joinery shop. Our crew specializes
in historic preservation methods which can often
save and upgrade your existing windows. On site,
we have methods of dust control and can usually
work from the interior of the building without
the need of exterior scaffolding.
Some
of the commercial buildings which we have worked
on are the Malkin Building at 55 Water Street
in Vancouver, St. Ann's Academy restoration, Victoria,
Church of Our Lord, 626 Blanshard Street, Victoria;
the Weiler Building, 921 Government Street, Victoria,
the Brackman-Ker Milling Company Building (VITV),
1414-1420 Broad Street, Victoria.
